O.K., you gurus of the EPICS ether (I already miss Marty!), got a question for you.
Is it possible from with a device driver that before iocInit (or during some part of it) to programmatically build a database record for use in EPICS?
For instance, I’d like my device driver to have a few records available over CA regarding its performance and statistics. I know I can create a AI for instance, and then a dedicated DB that references that tag (along with a few others…),
but it just seemed a more definite direction if I could have the driver actually programmatically build and install the appropriate entries.
