I used ADPICAM as a guide how to best implement it, but of course no copy and 
paste as I had to use a certain naming scheme for variables and functions. In 
addition I had to write separate classes for each type of Detector as I could 
not hide parameters that do not exist in a given device.

Meanwhile I got a hint from Princeton Instruments that the problem is related 
to a certain version of libusb used on the system: 

> With that being said, I have used the SDK personally on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS -- 
in order to get it to work properly with USB cameras, I had to clamp libusb to 
version 1.0.23-2build1.

So I will try that next, as my system uses version 1.0.26 of the library. I 
have to compile an old version on my system and test again.
