IOC shell arrow keys not working. Yielding "^[[A" or "^[[Something"

Hi all. Its been some time since in some of my IOCs the IOC shell seems to work in misterious ways with the arrow keys.

For unknown reason, most IOCs do have the functionality of using up and down arrow keys to navigate command history and left and right to navigate the line in which im writing:

but some other times, pressing up, left, down and right prints:

^[[A^[[D^[[C^[[B

But i couldnt find any major compilation difference between the applications. Am i missing something?
All my systems have libreadline-dev installed...
