Noticed that the only allowable conversion from a DBF_STRING source is to
another DBF_STRING. Was there any particular reason why 'sscanf'-like
functionality was not included?
This an issue which comes up when we flow down from a string based command
layer into the database. Anyone else encounter this? I suppose a simple
subroutine record could do the conversion...
