Vladimir,
I'd be very interested in working with you to put CDEV into MEDM. We are
working to put it into DM, and we should probably agree on a few
conventions. We continue to improve the CDEV<->CA interface, and either
of these 2 large programs will help to shake the bugs and/or performance
problems out. We also will be using DM and/or MEDM with non-CA servers.
As you may know, we are also working on "jdm", a 100% java implementation
of a dm like tool, and so working together will keep jdm and medm in sync
to the extent possible. Also, java is much better at allowing parallel
development (trivial dynamic addition of code based on class name), so
collaborative work on widgets, etc., will be easy for the jdm project.
We are looking for people to join this jdm project as well, and will be
discussing it at the Software Sharing workshop in Vancouver next month.
