In terms of reducing the load on IOCs due to search requests, it has been 
observed that when a typical BURT job of a few thousand channels is run using
the old BURT, a drop in available CPU power of 5-8% can be clearly observered
on all IOCs, while no noticeable drop is visible when the same BURT job is run 
using the new BURT (Note however, this on IOCs that do not have the channels 
in the BURT job.  Needless to say after locating the channels, the ca_get() 
operations are still executed on the appropriate IOC..) To view a StripTool 
plot of the load on 4 sample IOCs at TJNAF when such a test was run, visit:
