Subject: GPIB Devices

I have a few questions about how EPICS handles GPIB devices. My goal is
to understand how to send GPIB commands to devices. I am running EPICS
version R3.12-LBL.1, vxWorks version 5.3, and my GPIB controller board is
a National Instruments National GPIB 1014-DP.

My current understand is that one writes a device support entry table,
such as devAik486Gpib.c, with all of the GPIB commands enclosed in
parameter tables, and then uses a standard record instance, with a DTYP
that matches this device support entry table.

If I am totally off on this, I would like to have a step-by-step procedure
of how to send these commands.

Thanks,

Robert Willson
