I built gcc-2.7.2.3 from the standard source distribution (not WRS), with
this configuration:
../configure --target=m68k-wrs-vxworks --prefix=/usr/local/vx/v53/host/Linux -program-prefix= -program-suffix=68k --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld --with-headers=/usr/local/vx/v53/target/h --with-libs=/usr/local/vx/v53/target/lib
echo host=i686-unknown-linux target=m68k-wrs-vxworks build=i686-unknown-linux
I have been using this on Redhat 7.0 to build EPICS 3.13.[1,2,4] for mv167
and mv177 targets loading vxWorks V5.3 kernels built with the official
Tornado 1.0 tools on Solaris. I have had no problems.
I tried gcc-2.8.1 first, which produced code which would load, but not
execute.
I have not tried this with other target architectures, and the only C++
code built is what's in 3.13 base.
Did you try the standard gcc-2.7.2.3 ?
Did WRS make further changes which are needed for PPC, EPICS 3.14 or
vxWorks 5.4 ?
