In <top>/src/excas make the following change
diff -r1.1 Makefile
17c17
< SRC_DIRS += $(TOP)/templates/makeBaseApp/top/caServerApp
---
> SRC_DIRS += $(INSTALL_TEMPLATES)/makeBaseApp/top/caServerApp
Does this work?

"excas" does not compile/install if installing R3.14.2 in
other than the source (default) directory.

If, during the first compile, I change INSTALL_LOCATION in
base-3.14.2/configure/RELEASE.linux-x86 from the default
#INSTALL_LOCATION=<fullpathname>
to
INSTALL_LOCATION=/usr/local/epics-3.14.2
I get the following errors near the completion of compiling epics:
gmake[3]: Entering directory

However, if I first compile R3.14.2, and leave the
default "#INSTALL_LOCATION=<fullpathname>" set, I do not get these
errors.
Now after compiling this way, I can change to:
"INSTALL_LOCATION=/usr/local/epics-3.14.2" and I do not get the
compile errors. "R3.14.2/base/bin/linux-x86/excas" is installed,
but "/usr/local/epics-3.14.2/bin/linux-x86/excas" is not installed.
I manually copy excess to "/usr/local/epics/bin/linux-x86/excas"
I am using Redhat Linux 7.3 and 8.0 on an i686. Other
configuration files were modified from working epics-3.14.1 files
Questions:
1. Does my way of getting excas compiled and moved give the desired
results?
2. What modifications would allow "excas" to compile and install
correctly the first time when not installing in the default
directory?
