Adding the 'class' keyword to line 130 of the 'LibIO/DataFile.h' file did fix that problem.
OK.

Now, I have an error (much farther down in compiling) that says:
The good news is that you're about as far down with compiling as you'll get.

../main_standalone.cpp:13:26: error: xmlrpc_abyss.h: No such file or directory

Following the admittedly lengthy stuff in the manual's Setup/ Installation section,
I end up with /usr/local/include/xmlrpc_abyss.h.
Do you have that?

In addition, the program "xmlrpc-c-config" should be on the PATH.
Is it?

With that,
  ChannelArchiver/XMLRPCServer/xmlrpc-config-wrapper server-flags
should produce something like "-I/usr/local/include".
Does it?
Or does that result in the "-I${prefix}/include" which probably
won't work?
