Adding the 'class' keyword to line 130 of the 'LibIO/DataFile.h' file did fix that problem.OK. Now, I have an error (much farther down in compiling) that says:The good news is that you're about as far down with compiling as you'll get. ... /usr/bin/g++ -c -D_POSIX_C_SOURCE=199506L -D_POSIX_THREADS - D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_X86_ -DUNIX -D_BSD_SOURCE -Dlinux - D_REENTRANT -ansi -g -Wall -D ARCH_VERSION=2 -D ARCH_RELEASE=9 - D ARCH_PATCH=2 -D ARCH_VERSION_TXT=\"2.9.2\" -I/home/daviddu/include - I/usr/local/EPICS/base/include -I/usr/local/EPICS/base/include/os/ Linux -I/usr/local/xerces-c-src2_4_0/include -I${prefix}/ include -g -I. -I.. -I/usr/local/EPICS/include/os/Linux -I/usr/ local/EPICS/include -I/usr/local/EPICS/base/include/os/Linux -I/usr/ local/EPICS/base/include -I/usr/local/EPICS/include/os/Linux -I/usr/ local/EPICS/include ../main_standalone.cpp ... ../main_standalone.cpp:13:26: error: xmlrpc_abyss.h: No such file or directory Following the admittedly lengthy stuff in the manual's Setup/ Installation section, I end up with /usr/local/include/xmlrpc_abyss.h. Do you have that? In addition, the program "xmlrpc-c-config" should be on the PATH. Is it? With that, ChannelArchiver/XMLRPCServer/xmlrpc-config-wrapper server-flags should produce something like "-I/usr/local/include". Does it? Or does that result in the "-I${prefix}/include" which probably won't work? -Kay
