Here is a simple test using the EPICS caget
Normally it is in a loop using caget every 2 seconds.
If you "quit" the EPICS server then I get a serious failure and the
test program is lost somewhere in the ca library
Please delete the "goto START" line from inside the for() loop and try
again; the program should not be recreating its CA context just because
a channel has disconnected. The CA client library handles disconnection
and reconnections itself internally, and by recreating the context every
time there's a timeout error you're almost certainly confusing it.
I'm not saying that the library shouldn't be protected from this kind of
usage (that's up to Jeff Hill to decide), but your usage is definitely
wrong.
