The problem is that the device (the one controlled via the E5810) is one of 
those complicated beasts, where we have to wait for an SRQ and only then 
ask it for the measurement, otherwise we get the old value. I am not sure I 
could reproduce even remotely similiar behaviour with a asynRecord.

Anyway, my testing time at the machine is now over :(( I can try to 
reproduce the problem on my desk, but this will take some days...
