But then we were told a few weeks ago that EDM will never run on
Windows, which medm at least does.

AFAIK it's been that way ever since MEDM has run on a Mac.  This is
clearly an issue with the OS X X11 server, but I don't have any idea how
to fix it.  I just live with using the right-click method to place
components.

It's traditional at this point in the discussions that I express the
hope that the Qt version of EDM will return to active
development/support, but that's another issue.  Oh, and that the
adl->edl converter get some attention too.......
