Hi Phillip,
Although I do have the DSC module installed I know I've been able to use the
EPICS I/O client in LabView without this. I'm a little surprised that you
need to download anything to get this installed on your end, from what I
understand epics support was supposed to be built in right out of the box in
LabView 2009 and I know that I never had to download anything off the NI web
site to get this going. When installing LabView off the CD do you not have
an option for an epics client?

Subject: LabVIEW EPICS I/O Server
I am trying to use the "native" (NI-supplied) EPICS I/O Server support for
LabVIEW
2009 without the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) module.
I followed the relevant download and installation instructions, as shown in
this page:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/10812
Its worth mentioning that step 5 as shown on that page (and the file
'epicsreadme.txt') is identical to Step 2. I assume this is an error and
should in
fact state that a further software installation is to be done from the .msi
file in
folder EPICS_LVSupp_90?
Anyway, having performed the installation and restarted the National
Instruments
Variable Engine, I right-click on 'My Computer' target in a new Project
window,
select 'New>I/O Server' from the shortcut menu, select 'EPICS Client' option
(this
does appear) and finally click the 'Continue..' button.
A 'Configure EPICS Client I/O Server' dialog box should appear. But for me,
nothing
happens at all after I click the 'Continue' button. so I cannot configure an
EPICS
I/O Server.
I have repeated this installation now on 3 separate PCs, all behave the
same. All
are running LabVIEW 2009 on Windows XP.
Has anyone succeeded in configuring an EPICS I/O Server for LabVIEW 2009
without the
Datalogging and Supervisory Control module?
