Hopefully you won't need to worry about programming at the VXI-11 level. Just use VXI-11 as the messaging platform and base your code on devGpib or StreamDevice to handle the commands/replies.
Tektronix is profoundly unhelpful for programming details other than those provided in the programmer's manual provided with their equpment.,
