Hi Matt

Working with pyepics3, wanting to use the Stripchart, but not sure how.
Attempting to run the Stripchart results in error trace.

If I'm not running it correctly, please put me right, or if Stripchart isn't quite ready yet, no problem, can wait or beta test.

The doc at http://cars9.uchicago.edu/software/python/pyepics3/
looks excellent, and installation using easy_install mostly smooth.
The wxmplot demo works well and looks very promising ..

Thanks

Peter

Regarding installation:

easy_install -U pyepics : no errors

but easy_install wxmplot failed:

sudo easy_install -U wxmplot
Searching for wxmplot
Reading http://pypi.python.org/simple/wxmplot/
Reading http://newville.github.com/wxmplot/
Best match: wxmplot 0.9.7
Downloading http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/w/wxmplot/wxmplot-0.9.7.zip#md5=b84bc2c5d8000f952de1547bc664cb42
Processing wxmplot-0.9.7.zip
Running wxmplot-0.9.7/setup.py -q bdist_egg –dist-dir /tmp/easy_install-_cI9s0/wxmplot-0.9.7/egg-dist-tmp-nhof7j error: SandboxViolation: os.open(‘/root/.matplotlib/tmpoUfkAb’, 131266, 384) {}

Workaround with a manual download and
sudo python setup.py install

appears good. The wxmplot demo works.
