Hi Florian,
I think the problem is simpler than you think. Now that you have the complete version of areaDetector, you should be able to build and run the ararvis driver and example IOC. Don't worry about the Prosilica application and example Prosilica IOC that is part of areaDetector.
The DLS aravis driver needs to find the areaDetector base and plugin libraries. Once it finds those successfully then the aravis driver and example IOC in the DLS package should build successfully, and you should be able to control the Basler camera with that example IOC.
The only thing you should need to change is the aravis/configure/RELEASE file to point to the new version of areaDetector that you have installed and built.
Let me know if you have more questions or problems.
Mark

Hi Mark,
that is good to hear that it's just a few files missing. Indeed my ARCH
is linux-x86_64. The error which came during compilation was 'No rule
creating the target../../../lib/linux-x86_64/libnetCDF.a,
mandatory for example. Stop.'
I downloaded the package you sent and do my best in getting this working.
Meanwhile I'm wondering whether this is something different as compared
to the aravisGigE package from the DLS. I was pointed to those packages
since I read that the aravis library is able to communicate with the
Basler cameras. Indeed I was just using arv-camera-test and it created
the following output
xxx@yyy:~/devel/testiocBasler/aravisGigE-0-1-15dls6/vendor/aravis-linux-x86_64/tests$
./arv-camera-
test -n Basler-21342763
Looking for camera 'Basler-21342763'

From comparing the st.cmd files I understand that both cameras
initialized (sorry for the sloppy use of this word) using
NDStdArraysConfig(). However in my aravis development folder I have the
command aravisCameraConfig(...) while in your distribution I have
prosilicaConfig(...). From what I have learned so far I believe that the
dbd files ('registrar("aravisCameraRegister")' and
'registrar("prosilicaRegister")') are doing this. Can I just copy the
dbd file (and presumably adopt some files like configure/RELEASE and
what else needs to be changed) before compiling to get that working or
is it a bigger effort?
Cheers,
Flo
