Yes, you're right. And I am a big fan of Debian and I know where the
Debian repository and its sources already. Michael told me where it is. :)
Your suggestion cheers up me to spend some time to setup the
repository locally. (I told my team to use the BNL repository.)

There are many files you should fix in order to compile without any

If you really want to minimize your burden, you can install the readily
available Debian packages for the channelarchiver (and other EPICS
related software). [1]
