This is fun:
If you're running caQtDM 3.5.2 or higher on Linux, and you have xclip in your path (http://sourceforge.net/projects/xclip/), you can add CAQTDM_EXEC_LIST entries to copy a PV name to the X clipboard, and paste the clipboard to a link field via caput:
setenv CAQTDM_EXEC_LIST 'Copy PV name;echo -n &P| xclip -i -sel clip:Paste PV name;caput &P `xclip -o -sel clip`'
then you can get a PV name into a link field as follows:
- Right click on a PV, and select "Copy PV name".
- Right click on the link-PV field, and select "Paste PV name".
