What version of the top-level areaDetector and aravisGigE are you using? The latest version defines paths for glib in areaDetector/configure/EXAMPLE_CONFIG_SITE.local

The message about .a vs.so is just because it did not find either one.

I guess , try to match these with your RHEL.

Other option is to use USR_SYS_LIBS+=glib-2.0 instead.

By default, linker should accept both library formats (.so , .a).

I’m trying to use aravisGigEApp on a RHEL7 linux system to display and capture video images. When I run “make” in aravisGigEApp/src, I get an error which looks like I’m missing libglib-2.0.a (see below). I have /usr/lib64/libglib-2.0.so, but I seem to need the glib2-static package, which is not available for RHEL7. Is there a fix for this, or should I fall back to RHEL6?
