I am unable to replicate your failures running R3.14.12.5 on my RHEL-7.4
workstation against a local softIoc.
However the issue might be due to lp:1580623 or lp:1558206 both of which
were fixed in the later 3.14.12.6 release and could cause seg-faults at
program exit in some circumstances. There may have been other fixes that
might have resolved such problems, but those were the main ones I can
see. Can you try this again using R3.14.12.6?
