The splitting of the motor module is complete.
The stand-alone driver repositories can be found here:
https://github.com/epics-motor
The driver modules have been added to motor as submodules. Instructions
for how to clone motor have been added to motor's README.md:
https://github.com/epics-modules/motor/blob/master/README.md
When the driver modules are built as submodules, their build products
are installed in motor's top-level directories (db, dbd, lib). Files
that aren't installed by the build process remain in the submodule
directory.
The driver modules can be built outside of the motor module with very
little effort. The build products are installed to the driver module's
top-level directory in this case.
Each driver module contains an example IOC that can be built outside of
the driver module with very little effort.
I'll be reaching out to the authors of all the motor drivers in the near
future to invite them to be co-maintainers of these new driver
repositories. Anyone else who is interested in maintaining a driver
module is encouraged to send me an email.
