EDM on stretch

Hello all,

long story short, there is a contractor product coming with EDM screens, and it's supposed to work on a Debian 9 (stretch) system. Now, it's either:

1) Make edm work on stretch, or

2) Convert screens to CS-Studio.

While I'd lean for option 2, we're also working on populating our NSLS-II Debian 9 EPICS repository where most if not all major modules from epicsdeb are available (but not edm). There are few issues with EDM:

* libxp-dev is not available on stretch

* There are 'int to XtPointer' conversion issues akin to mentioned in this TechTalk post.

* EDM upstream location is currently dead.

So, did anyone manage to build EDM on stretch? To what extent is it used nowadays even? If we had a package which builds, we'd be glad to publish it in our mirror.
