fyi. the (implicit) loopback broadcast address is a semi-documented Linux specific behavior.
It is doesn't need to be explicitly configured, it is always active.
Using 127.255.255.255 for searching works great with the CA implementations I've tested,
also my new PVXS implementation of PVA. I've found this "trick" handy for local testing.
However, it doesn't work with the pvAccessCPP implementation of PVA due to a quirk which is
related to Klemen's recent problem with global broadcasts.
