Ah ok I see.

I have now got it working with ADSpinnaker. Thanks for your speedy help!

Cheers,

Will

Hi Will,

  • I am using Linux, Ubuntu 20.04. I am using ADPointGrey with area detector version 3.1
  • I am using the latest version of the SDK spinnaker-2.5.0.80

Those 2 statements are inconsistent.  ADPointGrey does not use the Spinnaker SDK, it uses the obsolete FlyCap2 SDK.

I suggest you switch from ADPointGrey to ADSpinnaker, which is based on the currently supported Spinnaker SDK.

Mark

Hi Mark,

I am using Linux, Ubuntu 20.04. I am using ADPointGrey with area detector version 3.1

I am using the latest version of the SDK spinnaker-2.5.0.80

The camera is model BFLY-PGE-50A2M-CS

The problem occurs after a first acquisition in any acquisiton mode. Any subsequent attempts to cause acquisition result in nothing, and error messages saying that the messages have not been written. It works great for the first acquisition (single, multiple or continuous). I can take multiple/ continuous images without a problem. If I try to take more after stopping I can’t.

Best,

Will

Hi Will,

It would help to have some more information.

Linux or Windows?

ADPointGrey, ADSpinnaker or ADAravis.  Which version of the driver?

What version of the SDK?

What model camera?

Can you describe an exact sequence of events which triggers the problem?

Mark

Subject: Help with Blackfly FLIR/PointGrey Camera

Hi,

I am trying to set up a point FLIR Blackfly camera using the point grey areaDetector support module.

I am able to connect to the camera and take images using the supplied SpinView Software. I am able to connect to the camera using the point grey area detector IOC. I can take 1 image in single mode, multiple images in multiple mode, or as many images as I like in continuous mode. However, after 1 or two images in single mode, or the group in multiple, or if I press “stop” in continuous mode, I cannot take any more images.

In the IOC I get the following error at the end of the acquisition (in any mode) if there is an error.

epics> 2021/11/15 17:23:46.394 pointGrey:stopCapture: ERROR calling StopCapture Type=35 Description=Error stopping stream.

If it’s relevant I have packet size set to 1440 (I am not using jumbo frames)

Has anybody seen something similar? Can I enable some additional debug to get more information? Is there some additional configuration of my network card I should check?

Many thanks,

Will
