Subject: Quickly Connecting EPICS iocsh variables to records

Hi,

I have an EPICS3.14.12.8 system.

What's the easiest way to connect "variable(foo, int)" lines in my dbd file to epics records?
I have many such variables throughout my code for debugging using epicsExportAddress(int, foo) in my C code.

I think I need to make a new db or template specifying new records (eg., asub type) of all the corresponding variables. The SNAM field of these records specify C routines connecting the variable memory to the corresponding records.

Is that the best approach? Has anyone else done this sort of thing? Seeing my iocsh debug variable in a display would be super helpful.

Thanks,
-Matt
