The new major version of
CA Lab is finished! We are now at version
1.7.1.1. And it is finally stable on EPICS v7.
CA Lab has been continuously developed since 2010. Since then, communication between LabVIEW and EPICS has become much easier in Linux and Windows. Without additional services nor special configurations, EPICS values can be read or written at any point in LabVIEW. In particular also the user events were strongly improved with the now available version. Although it is an open source project, it was always a bit difficult to contribute to the code. This has changed now. With the current version CA Lab is now also available on GitHub. This makes a code review much easier. Also, problems and potential bugs can now be communicated much better. Brian Powell has helped me a lot in the last months to improve the scalability of CA Lab significantly. Even a large number of EPICS variables (up to 10,000) are now no longer a problem. Finally, I would like to thank you again for all the kudos in the past.
