Hi Ray,

I guess so. Most binary build of pcaspy are built against epics 3.
But in regards of PCAS module, no big differences since epics 3. 

It depends on where the binary version is from. It is very likely
to have the epics libraries statically linked, which is the default.
Check it with ldd command,
$ ldd _cas.cpython-310-x86_64-linux-gnu.so 
If no libCom in the output then it is statically linked.
