Hallo,
I'm also trying to get to grips with modern things like IDEs (I seem to do this every summer,
but always fail and continue to use the vi).

Now it is Visual Studio code's turn (there is now a Makefile-tool extension available).

My problem:
When I load epics-base (with git clone --recursive, which I can't do with VisualStudio code either)
in the terminal and then create the link with Add Folder to Workspace in VisualCode Studio, I end up with this:

(base) hactar:epics-base junkes$ git status
On branch 7.0
Your branch is up to date with 'origin/7.0'.

no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a”)

I.e. VisualStudio deletes these files? I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
I am starting to fear that these tools and I are not compatible :-(

Heinz
