We are pleased to share the latest release of CA Lab, V1.7.3.3! This update introduces several enhancements and fixes.
Key Updates and Enhancements:
- Formatted String Results: When you query the PREC field, the string output is now neatly formatted in CaLabGet.vi. This applies to EPICS records that support the PREC field, ensuring accuracy in your data.
- Detailed EPICS Information: The PVList in CaLabInfo.vi now displays both the EPICS record type and the native EPICS data type, giving you more comprehensive information at a glance.
- New Utilities for Palette Management: We've added utility VIs to easily add or remove CA Lab from the palette set in LabVIEW, offering greater flexibility in how you manage your tools.
Updates and Fixes:
- Input Label Clarification: To avoid any confusion with programming terminology, we've changed the input label "synchronous" to "wait" in caLabPut.vi. This update maintains full backward compatibility.
- Bug Fixes and Improvements:
- Resolved the 39-character string bug, ensuring smoother performance.
- Fixed issues with 64-bit record handling for large numbers, improving stability.
- Addressed problems with data type conversion, especially for inactive EPICS variables at the program start.
- SoftIOC Demo.vi Enhancements: Made minor improvements to enhance your demonstration experience.
- Simplified Setup: The setup process no longer requires admin rights, making installation more straightforward and accessible.
- Updated Storage Location: CA Lab libraries and VIs are now saved under %APPDATA%\calab, aligning with modern application standards for better data management.
We believe these updates will significantly improve your workflow and provide a more robust toolset for your projects. Your feedback has been invaluable in guiding these improvements, and we appreciate your continued support.
Stay tuned for more updates and happy coding!
