A bit of a hack, but might be quick and easy — I’m not sure if this old code still works, but many years ago I threw together a quick proof-of-principle driver to monitor the switches on a USB mouse. You could perhaps wire an opto-isolator across a mouse button to get your TTL signal into the device.https://epics.anl.gov/tech-talk/2011/msg01325.phpOn Jun 20, 2025, at 8:31 AM, P B via Tech-talk <tech-talk at aps.anl.gov> wrote:
Hello,
I am relatively new to EPICS. I am trying to look for an option to monitor a single TTL signal on a Linux PC running EPICS.
Using something like a DAQ is overkill. Ideally, I am thinking of something like the FT232H chip. Is there support for something equivalent to this? Or any suggestions on a quick and easy way to achieve this within EPICS?
Thanks.
