More generally:
Ubuntu 25.10 was released less than 3 weeks ago.
Using bleeding-edge, latest versions for your development environment is a recipe for finding such new issues. Thanks for your help!
If you prefer a safer way to get things working with less trouble, a slightly less recent version, e.g., the latest long-term support Ubuntu 24.04, is a better choice.
