Greetings,
We're currently in the process of migrating our Archiver Appliance to a
new VM and
have a few questions regarding how to properly copy over the data to the
new installation. The setup on the new machine is identical to that of the
current (old) one, i.e. data being archived to
/arch/{sts,mts,lts}/ArchiverStore/...,
the same IOCs, policy settings, and so on.
Should the data first be consolidated into the long term store on the
old machine prior to
moving it, or would it suffice to copy it as is and then resume
archiving on the new machine?
Also, is it necessary to shut the archiver down completely on the old
machine before moving data,
or is it enough to just pause the PVs beforehand in order to freeze the
.pb files?
Thanks in advance, we'd be grateful to learn of your experiences on this
issue.
