Dear Martin,

I encountered the same error as you have when I tried to use the data viewer in CS-Studio to view Archiver Appliance data.

First of all, make sure that you are using the right port number for the retrieval web app. Mine runs on 17668 by default.

In order to view data with the CS-Studio, you do need to install the pbraw client plugin as the last person in this thread said. However I think I remember trying to build that code and simply adding it to the plugins doesn't work. (Or I found that I couldn't build it.)

In any case, we got CS-Studio working by including the Archiver Appliance pbraw client into a new build of CS-Studio. The plugin ID is org.csstudio.archive.reader.appliance (I'm using version 1.0.1.201602291313), and it's called 'Archiver Appliance Reader'.
