3) But after you said that edit the PATH , I did this. "export PATH=/opt/epics/base/bin/linux-x86_64"
Linux has a file that it executes every time you log in. Which file depends on which shell you are running. For the bash shell the file is .bash_profile in your home directory. You need to put your “export PATH” command in that file
like Pete Jemian described. You can load that file into any terminal without logging out by doing
source ~/.bash_profile
The next time you log in the PATH will be correct.

Thank you so much.. It works fine. But there is something that occurs when I change it.
According to the quick example that is Eric Norum's under this talk,
1) I make an IOC example with
"../../../makeBaseApp -t example example"
"../../../makeBaseApp -i -t example example"
I've got the same result as the same with Eric Norum's.
2) I run it. Again,I've got the same result. I mean that works fine.
3) But after you said that edit the PATH , I did this. "export PATH=/opt/epics/base/bin/linux-x86_64"
And camonitor does not work in other terminal. If I edit it again on the current terminal, it works fine.
But under that terminal , when I try to do 4th step, which is runnig the Octave, there is an error that's saying it's a different path with Octave.
I am wondering, did I make a wrong building for Epics_Base at the beginning by setting the environment variables. Or is there another way to do it permanently for just Epics_Base path, for not the others (since I've got path error on the
same terminal while I have to run different apps.).When I edit it, the others (such as Octave) are changing in terms of PATH.
Thanks in advance.. Best Regards..

That is your problem. You need to edit your login script to add /epics/base/bin/linux-x86_64 to your PATH environment variable. Then it will find camonitor when you type that
command.

I suspect the files are in base, but base is not in your path. Please send the output of
echo $PATH
Mark
What version of EPICS are you using? What does
ls -l /epics/base/bin/linux-x86_64
I was under the impression that caget/caput/camonitor and such had versions in base for quite some time.
It's on that path (/epics/base/bin/linux-x86_64). But when I type "which camonitor" , there is no response like
yours,sir.
