Dear Scott,
I've (semi-successfully) used the Lexium MDrive with Ethernet, but I've
built my own modbus driver for it. The motorIms did work for very basic
things, but did not support the switches, as you mention.
The modbus driver also does not support the manufacturer specific
functions needed for the I/O setup, so I've had a Python-modbus script
do this at IOC startup.
This was working for us for the current situation (probably a one-off
deal, since other motors are much better integrated with our setup), but
it certainly can be improved upon for more permanent installations.
If you are interested, I'm happy to share the code or else contribute to
development in other drivers.
