Did you build RTEMS with legacy stack or with rtems-libbsd?
To get the shell input to work, you could replace in
modules/libcom/RTEMS/posix/rtems_config.c
#define CONFIGURE_APPLICATION_NEEDS_CONSOLE_DRIVER
with
#define CONFIGURE_APPLICATION_NEEDS_SIMPLE_CONSOLE_DRIVER
