Following Ned Arnold's advice I took the "I'll only want to do this
once" approach and rebooted my workstation. Unfortunately that didn't
help. Then I followed the rest of Rozelle's "Debugging EPICS ..."
paper and found:
My netmasks are ok.
The cpu is not busy.
"casr" says no clients are connected.
I can't find any of my channels with cau.
I thought I found it when I walked over to the (physical) console
and found that it said that the database initialization failed
(and below that said that the database initialization completed),
but then remembered that it always does that (no idea why).
(I also took out the changes I made to the database and that didn't
have any effect either).
Any suggestions welcome (I'm absolutely out of ideas).
Thanks again and in advance,
Maren
