OK, I tried the basic-epics nightly build for 32-bit Windows, and it
worked!  (Actually, it does not come bundled with a JRE, so I had to
install one.  But once I did, then it worked.)

The basic-epics macOS build did not work, unfortunately.  It crashed
with an error dialog that said:

  An error has occurred.

  See the log file /Users/jlmuir/CSS-Workspaces/Default/.metadata/.log.

I've included the contents of that log file at the end of this email.
