I’m considering using a combination of GNU Screen (for multi-user access to the console, logging and screen history buffer recall) to run procServ -f (for IOC start/stop/restart) that runs a script which exec’s the IOC binary, although I haven’t actually tried that full combination yet.

IOCs in a control system generally perform a different role than many containerized applications such as web-servers since they aren’t usually started and stopped based on user demand and there aren’t many instances running exactly the same code and configuration. Don’t assume that all of the features of standard containers are useful for running EPICS IOCs.
