I hate to say this to you, but 3.14.12.6 and EPICS V4 4.5.0 are both 5 years old now. We have fixed some issues in the CA client library since then, although not a huge number, and some problems in the PVA CA Provider interface as well which could be causing this. Thus you’re more likely to get interest from the core developers in helping to resolve the problem if you could use a {ca,pv}get tool from a much more recent EPICS release and demonstrate that the problem still exists (or even better, find that it goes away).
