Hi Mark,

I conducted a few more tests to answer your questions:

  1. The error happens when only one camera is acquiring, as well as when all are acquiring
  2. They are running in separate IOC’s.

In total I have only 100MBs of bandwidth available on the network. I am using a dedicated NIC on my server for the cameras, this peaks at about 25MBs during acquisition with the one camera.

  1. All three cameras are running the same firmware version
  2. I have tried to repeat the error with the SpinView program and I can. I think this last point probably shows it’s a camera problem, I will contact FLIR

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will,

  • Does the error happen when only a single camera is running at once, or only when multiple cameras are running at the same time?
  • If the latter, then are they running in one IOC or 3 IOCs, and what is the total amount of Ethernet bandwidth being used?
  • Are all 3 cameras running the same firmware version?
  • Have you tried to reproduce the problem using the FLIR SpinView program?

Mark

Subject: FLIR Camera with AD Spinnaker losses ID

Hi,

I am using a FLIR blackfly_50A2M_CS camera with Area Detector version 3.1 EPICS R7.0.4.1 on Ubuntu 20.04.

I can acquire images with one camera, with 2 other cameras with identical settings I can acquire images for some amount of time and then I get a bunch of errors in iocsh all of the following pattern:

“exception Spinnaker: Error reading from device [SN:Unknown], at register address: F0F8000C. Please try reconnecting the device. [-1010]”

Given that I see this problem with 2 cameras and not one I think it’s a problem with the cameras. Before I contact FLIR I wanted to see if anybody else here had seen a similar problem?

Thanks

Will
