I wondered if kqueue or similar could be involved as libevent may use it.  I discounted the idea when you mentioned that CA was effected as well.  But a bug in the IP stack could have strange and non-local effects.  Some days it seems to me that software is only loosely bound by the laws of physics.

Any idea if/when the EOF issue has been addressed?
