Mark Rivers mentioned that EPICS_CA_MAX_ARRAY_BYTES needs to be set properly.

In addition, if 13PS1:image1:ArrayData has an invalid severity, matlab will crash unless you have a try/catch block around the lcaGet:

or you have called lcaSetSeverityWarnLevel to 14:
