Thank you very much for your response. We have received a similar view from two other knowledgeable people, so it seems that our designer’s view is out-of-date.

It appears to me that ITER does have drivers for some NI PXI devices.

However, I am not sure that those are open source because of the ITER contractual agreements.  You might want to discuss this off-line with Ralph Lange.

Dear All

 

We are trying to decide on a SCADA system for the MTF test rig project at UK Atomic Energy Authority. Our preference is for EPICS but one of our designers has raised the following concern:

Could anyone provide some advice on this? It seems that other users must have encountered this issue before. We would like to avoid use of a proprietary system if possible.
