Actually, this has been done in the PCAS module a while ago:

This thread is about older versions of Base. (And I wonder why Dirk is "always" installing old Base versions.) 
I don't think it is worth adding the change to the mentioned released Base versions 3.14.12.3 and 3.15.6, especially as the 3.14 series is closed and it is possible to compile the PCAS module against older Base versions (please consider the note in the PCAS readme).
