The SPI-MAXnet-8000 doesn't work well and I don't recommend it. I have
had nothing but trouble with the two I've had the misfortune of
supporting.

The network stack of the MAXnet controller was not robust; connecting
the controller to the network via ethernet would result in it locking up
after only a few minutes. A power-cycle was required to be able to
reconnect to the controller.

The pinout of the serial port in the documentation was that of the
header on the board, NOT the RJ45 connection, if I remember correctly.
This is what I determined the pinout to be:

RJ45	Function	DB9
----	--------	---
1	nc 1
3	RXD 2
5	TXD 3
7	nc 4
8	GND 5
2	nc 6
4	RTS 7
6	CTS 8
X	nc 9

And most importantly the MAXnet does not use the same line driver as the
MAVv board, which has internal filters. The MAXnet controller is very
susceptible to noise on the limit lines. The integration of the MAXnet
controller into the SPI-MAXnet-8000 package makes it difficult to add
filters.
