After hours of trying, I was able to build EPICS ArchiveViewer on our
Scientific Linux 3.0.5 machine. Here is what I had to do.
1) download ant-1.6.2-3jpp.noarch.rpm from the following URL:
http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/jpackage/1.6/generic/free/RPMS/ant-1.6.2-3jpp.noarch.rpm
2) download jpackage-utils-1.6.6-1jpp.src.rpmfrom the following:
http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/jpackage/1.6/generic/free/RPMS/jpackage-utils-1.6.6-1jpp.noarch.rpm
(I needed to do that, as ant-1.6.2-3jpp.noarch.rpm above has the
dependency to jpackage-utils).
3) uninstall existing ant (ant 1.5.2-23 -- appears to be installed by
RHEL/SL) by the following:
rpm -e ant
4) install jpakcage-utils -1.6.6-1jpp.src.rpm and ant-1.6.2-3jpp.noarch.rpm
Then, I was able to build EPICS ArchiveViewer.
It appears that ant 1.5.2-23 provided by SL3/RHEL3 has some issues with it.
