Hi, all,

Thank a lot for your kind help. I will try to capture the logs and update the firmwire as Mark suggested.

Subject: Re: [EXTERNAL] Probelm with ethernet interface of Galil controller
Hi,

I’ve been seeing the same problem for years with the Galil DMC40x0 controllers. I have tried some of the ethernet tricks that the firmware supports (like the IK and IB commands), but nothing really worked. I did find that updating the firmware to a recent version (>1.2h) did help a lot on some systems, but didn’t solve it entirely. I was able to lock up a controller on one beamline just by starting an IOC. The only solution we have found that works long term is to put the controllers behind a firewall that blocks broadcast traffic, or isolating the controllers on a dedicated network port. If that’s not possible then I would recommend using a serial port via a Moxa.

Cheers,
Matt
