Great idea, I can sinply remove the OUT fields from the AO records and
use one of the RESET records for getting things started (setting PINI
there). This avoid all problems.

Yes, that is certainly a benefit. I had tried that before, but I couldn't
get changes in the timing values propagated only on reset time. But with
the small change above this works just fine now. Thanks for hinting me
into the right direction!
